Last week in The New Success Principles Part 1 episode, I shared the first 3 of 7 New Success Principles with you.
To recap, the first 3 New Success Principles were:
Before I share the next 4 with you, I have a couple of thoughts for you to ponder.
I don’t believe that we one day arrive at success, do you?
It’s more of an ongoing journey full of learning and growing rather than a destination or even a specific outcome.
My New Success Principles are built on this idea:
Making daily progress toward greater fulfillment
I think it’s also a bit dangerous to get too attached to specific outcomes and results instead being open to what unfolds.
Have you ever wanted something so much but it just didn’t work out the way you planned? (You might also check out the episode I did on How to Handle Defeat)
When you get too attached to a specific outcome, it’s hard to adjust when it doesn’t work out the way you planned. It can really get you down.
On the other hand, if you can remain open and accept the situation, you will be much happier.
Here are the next 4 of the 7 New Success Principles:
Being able to be true to yourself no matter what anyone else thinks is critical to becoming more fulfilled in your life. This one in particular has taken me a long time to learn and I still struggle with it. Be You. Be who you are. No matter how tough it is. When you are authentic, people will gravitate toward you and trust you implicitly.
With freedom, I’m more specifically talking about “time freedom”. Having the ability to control your time and how you spend it is invaluable. It doesn’t matter how much money you have if you have no time to spend with people you love or do the things that you love to do. Financial freedom is only meaningful when you have “time freedom”.
I believe that influence is the new leadership. Each and every one of us has the ability to become more influential in the digital age. And not just in the work that we do. You can be influential with your family and friends as well. Influencers lead, give, guide, and share. Leading others toward the things that improve their lives creates greater fulfillment.
If you’re not growing, you’re going backwards. When you consistently focus on personal growth in all areas of your life, you will become a better person, partner, parent, and professional! Push yourself. Get out of your comfort zone. Seek new knowledge and experiences that will help you grow mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
As I’ve said before, I certainly don’t have the market cornered on what can make you more successful. But I do believe that these 7 New Success Principles can ultimately lead to greater fulfillment and happiness in your life. I’ve seen the evidence in my own life of putting them into focus and practice.
